BRAZIL: BRAZIL LEAD IN SWIMMING CUP

Brazil took the lead in the first Brazil Swimming Cup following the second day of competition at Leme Beach in Rio de Janeiro on Saturday (March 5). The competition took place in a pool built right on the sands of Rio de Janeiro's beach. The Brazilian team leads with 159 points with Italy in second place on 144. Russia, who had been leading on Friday, were third with 85 points despite despite Alexander Popov and Yuri Moukhin's victory over Brazilian Fernando Scherer in the 100m on Saturday. The Russians also beat the Brazilian team in the 4x100m relay. The American team is in fourth place with 74 points.
