This page contains the terms on which you may make use of the JISC MediaHub Service. Please read it carefully before you start to use JISC MediaHub. By using JISC MediaHub, you indicate that you accept these Terms of Service and that you agree to comply with them. If you do not agree to these Terms of Service, please refrain from using JISC MediaHub.
JISC MediaHub is a Service operated by EDINA, a data centre based at the University of Edinburgh’s Data Library, forming part of the University of Edinburgh (a charitable body, registered in Scotland, with registration number SC005336) providing networked access to online information services to Higher and Further Education Institutions throughout the UK. EDINA is funded by the Joint Information Systems Committee of the Joint Funding Councils for UK Higher- and Further-Education.
JISC MediaHub is an online information service providing discovery and access to a range of high-quality content for use in teaching, learning and research. JISC MediaHub focuses on the needs of UK Higher and Further Education. Through JISC MediaHub, users can search and access content to which their institutions have subscribed as well as content that is free to use on the Web.
Access to the JISC MediaHub service is free of charge although access to some of the content is subject to subscription. We reserve the right to withdraw or amend the JISC MediaHub service without notice.
We process information about you in accordance with the EDINA Privacy Policy. By using JISC MediaHub, you consent to such processing and you warrant that all data provided by you is accurate.
You must not misuse JISC MediaHub by knowingly introducing viruses, trojans, worms, logic bombs or other material which is malicious or technologically harmful.
The term 'metadata' is used to refer to content describing Digital Information Objects including an identifier such as a Uniform Resource Locator which may be used to locate and access the information object.

JISC MediaHub includes records about content that is hosted within the JISC MediaHub service and about content that is hosted by third parties ("Third Party Content"). The terms of service specified here govern your use of the JISC MediaHub service and the metadata records presented by JISC MediaHub. These terms of service do not govern your use of any digital information objects, including but not limited to digital images, sound files, moving images, software, learning object or computer models which you may access through JISC MediaHub.
Your use of content owned by or licensed to JISC ("JISC Content") which is hosted in the JISC MediaHub service is governed by a JISC MediaHub sub-licence between JISC and your subscribing institution. When using JISC Content hosted by JISC MediaHub you must adhere to the terms of that sub-licence. JISC Content that is hosted in JISC MediaHub is indicated by a

Third Party Content that is searchable in JISC MediaHub is indicated by a

Your use of Third Party Content will be governed by any specific terms of use imposed by the provider of such Third Party Content ("the Content Provider") on their own website or service interface. It is your responsibility to read and comply with any such terms of use imposed by a Content Provider in relation to any Third Party Content that you choose to access.
We have no control over Third Party Content and accept no responsibility for it or for any loss or damage that may arise from your use of Third Party Content. We make no warranty that your use of any Third Party Content will not infringe the intellectual property rights of any third party.
This list of all the collections searchable in JISC MediaHub distinguishes between JISC Content hosted on JISC MediaHub and Third Party Content that is hosted on third-party sites.
The JISC MediaHub service and its contents are provided without any guarantees, conditions or warranties as to their accuracy. In particular, we make no warranties, representations or undertakings about:
any of the content of the JISC MediaHub Service (including, without limitation, any as to the quality, accuracy, completeness or fitness for any particular purpose of such content); or any Third Party Content referred to or accessed by hypertext link through the JISC MediaHub service.
We make no guarantees that the JISC MediaHub service is free from computer viruses. It is strongly recommended that you check for such viruses before downloading any content from JISC MediaHub.
We accept no liability to you or any other person for any direct, indirect or consequential loss or damage incurred by any user in connection with: any reliance placed on the content of JISC MediaHub or any Third Party Content; the use, inability to use or results of the use of JISC MediaHub or any Third Party Content; the downloading of any materials from JISC MediaHub, any websites linked to it and any materials posted on it; or any unauthorised access to or alteration to JISC MediaHub. This clause shall not exclude liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence nor any other liability which cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law.
We are the owner or the licensee of all intellectual property rights in the JISC MediaHub service and any material published on it. You must not infringe any such intellectual property rights (or any intellectual property rights held by any Content Providers in any Third Party Content).
We may revise these terms of service at any time by amending this page. You are expected to check this page from time to time to take notice of any changes we make, as they are binding on you.
These terms of service shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the Laws of Scotland and any disputes that may arise will be subject to the jurisdiction of the Scottish courts.
